Women in Chongjin City Advance into Major Theatres of Socialist Construction

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- More than 100 women in Chongjin City, North Hamgyong Province in the DPRK volunteered to work at honorable posts with the desire to glorify their true life as women workers in the revolutionary advance for the comprehensive development of socialism.

Members of the women's union in Ranam, Sinam and Phohang districts vowed to work at the Ranam Coal-Mining Machine Factory, Chongjin Footwear Factory, etc.

Women's union members in the city including Sunam and Songphyong districts advanced into the Chongjin School uniform Factory and raw material bases of the regional-industry factories and women in Chongam District into the countryside.

A meeting to congratulate them took place at the Chongjin City Hall of Culture on Tuesday. Present there were Choe Yong Ho, secretary of the provincial committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and members of the women's union.

At the meeting, a speaker called upon all the volunteers to become innovators loved by the masses at every worksite seething with the drive for increased production and economy.

Volunteers in the speeches expressed their determination to glorify the honor of the socialist workers and contribute to the comprehensive rejuvenation and development of the country. Their speeches met the response of the participants.

Officials and women's union members saw off the volunteers leaving for new posts. -0-
