New Thousands of Flats Appear in Tanchon City of DPRK

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- A mining town in Tanchon City of South Hamgyong Province is in a festive mood with housewarming against the backdrop of the new era when the countryside of the DPRK undergoes a dramatic change.

Thousands of elegant low- and multi-storied dwelling houses newly built along ravines of Paekam- and Songwang-dongs mirror the love of the Workers' Party of Korea that values workers most and provides them with the best conditions of cultural life.

Celebration meetings were held on the spots respectively on Jan. 21.

Congratulatory addresses and speeches were made at the meetings attended by Hwang Myong Chol, vice-chairman of the South Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, officials and employees of the General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry and the Komdok Mining Complex and residents of those areas.

Those who received licenses for the use of the houses shouted "Hurrah!" for the Workers' Party and socialism.

When housewarming parties began, the mining town turned into a sea of joyful dance with laughter heard from every house. -0-
