Pyongyang, January 6 (KCNA) -- Young people in South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK have volunteered to work at major worksites of socialist construction.

Young people in Sinpho City and Ragwon County volunteered to work at offshore farms, following the example of those who voluntarily advanced into regional-industry factories in Jongphyong County.

Youths in Hamhung City went to the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm and those in Sinhung, Yonggwang, Kowon, Hongwon and Hochon counties vowed to work at raw material base stations.

Young people in Tanchon City and Riwon, Pukchong, Toksong and other counties volunteered to work at construction brigade, school construction corps and other revolutionary posts called by the Workers' Party of Korea.

A meeting to congratulate the volunteers took place at the Hamhung Grand Theatre on January 5.

Present there were officials concerned, officials of the youth league, youth and students in the province. Certificates of petition were awarded to the volunteers to be followed by congratulatory address and speeches.

At the end of the meeting, officials and young people encouraged the volunteers leaving for new posts, presenting bouquets to them. -0-
