Young Volunteers Increase in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Tens of young people in North Phyongan Province of the DPRK have volunteered to work at major worksites for socialist construction.

An instructor of the Pakchon County Youth League Committee advanced into the county raw materials base station and a teacher of Ponbu Primary School in Sinuiju City affiliated to Sinuiju Teacher Training College proposed to the youth league organization volunteered to work at the branch school on a remote islet.

Senior middle schools graduates and youths in Changsong and Sindo counties vowed to work at the Changsong Sheep Breeding Ground and the Reed Combined Farm in Sindo County. Graduates of Sinuiju Middle School for Orphans petitioned to work at the Samgwang Livestock Farm under the North Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee.

A meeting was held on May 6 to congratulate the volunteers.

Present there were Yang Myong Chol, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and young people.

Certificates of petition were awarded to be followed by a congratulatory address and resolution-making speeches.

Officials and young people in the province presented bouquets to the volunteers leaving for new revolutionary posts and encouraged them. -0-
