Unjong Tea Associated with Loving Care of Peerlessly Great Men for People

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Unjong Tea is appreciated by the DPRK people as a table luxury as it has a good taste and smell and is good for the health. The tea is associated with the loving care of the peerlessly great men for the people.

President Kim Il Sung planted tea saplings at the garden of his house and learnt about their efficiency while personally cultivating them.

He sent hundreds of tea saplings to the Academy of Agricultural Sciences to make sure that they are cultivated across the country after acclimatization.

He also set a sunny place in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province as a location to plant tea saplings and indicated the orientation of the research work.

Chairman Kim Jong Il took measures to revitalize the research into tea cultivation and named the tea produced in the country Unjong Tea in order to convey the benevolence of Kim Il Sung to posterity.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un repeatedly stressed the need to create tea-tree fields in Unjong Tea cultivation districts as planned, normalize the production of tea leaves, develop tea leaf processing technology and make a lot of tea such as iced tea to contribute to promoting the people's health and enjoying a highly civilized life.

The Unjong Tea Factory was built in a modern way thanks to the great devotion of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who personally chose the site for the factory and solved all problems arising in its construction.

The tasty tea products made by the factory are sold at the Unjong Tea House in the center of Pyongyang, the Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp, the Masikryong Ski Resort and many other service units.

The tea culture, which includes broad contents ranging from the cultivation technology to production technology, packing, storage and boiling method of Unjong tea (Unjong Tea cultivation and drinking ways), was registered as a national intangible cultural heritage last year as it contributes to promoting the people's health and longevity and improving their material and cultural standards. -0-
