Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) and agricultural workers held a meeting to hear the noble virtues of Chairman Kim Jong Il on December 16 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of his demise.

Present there were officials of the UAWK and agricultural workers in Pyongyang.

The speakers told with deep emotion about the loving care for the people shown by Kim Jong Il who walked along the rugged roads between farm fields till the last period of his revolutionary career to solve the food problem of the people.

They said that the Chairman visited the Migok Farm in Sariwon City, the Sinam Farm in Ryongchon County, the Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County, the Unhung Farm in Thaechon County, etc. to kindle the flames of socialist emulation among farms and led them to glorify their honor as model farms in the van of agricultural production.

They highly praised the immortal feats of Kim Jong Il who always found himself among agricultural workers, paid deep attention to the issue of supplying vegetables to the citizens and took measures for it without taking a rest on holidays for the happiness of the people.

They stressed that he is the benevolent father and the great teacher of the DPRK people as he showed deep loving care and benevolence for the agricultural workers, devoting himself to improving the people's diet.

They called upon all the agricultural workers to become the genuine patriotic peasants, saying that a new era of comprehensive national rejuvenation is being ushered in on this land under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is ceaselessly making the journey of devoted service for the people's wellbeing to translate the patriotic desire of Kim Jong Il into reality. -0-
