Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Senior middle school graduates in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK have volunteered for forefront border military posts.
Those in Chongjin City vowed to steadily carry forward the tradition of victory of our great country at the posts of national defence by emulating the loyalty to the leader and the bravery and patriotic spirit displayed by the defenders of the country in the 1950s.
Those in Kim Chaek City and Hwadae County, too, petitioned their youth league organizations to send them to the forefront military posts.
Those in Myongchon and Onsong counties joined the volunteers' ranks with a resolve to defend the security of the country and the happiness of the people, always mindful of the request of their beloved alma maters and native places.
Meetings to cheer the volunteers took place in relevant cities and counties.
Speakers expressed their determination to perform military feats at the posts of national defence by carrying forward the patriotic spirit of the brave soldiers during the Fatherland Liberation War, who devoted their youth without hesitation to the country and the people under the hail of bullets and bombs, and the soldiers who participated in overseas military operations.
The meetings were followed by contests of singing wartime songs in chorus while marching.
Officials, working people, youth and students encouraged senior middle school graduates enthusiastically singing theme songs for defending the leader and the country while flying high the national flags of the DPRK before the ranks. -0-
