Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK are cultivating and tending earlier crops in a scientific and technological way to overcome the abnormal weather effects and reap high and stable yield.
Haeju City and Jangyon, Unchon and Chongdan counties have sprayed plant nutrients and growth regulators according to the characteristics of farm fields to improve the growth of wheat and barley.
To cope with the change of atmospheric temperature and humidity, Anak, Paechon and Unryul counties have supplied lime-sulfur mixture to farms, thus preventing damage from various diseases.
Yonan, Sinchon, Jaeryong and Pyoksong counties have established a system to prevent damage from moisture and cleaned ditches and waterways of wheat and barley fields.
The province repaired all dry-field irrigation pumping stations and irrigation facilities before anything else to cope with the drought rapidly and has paid due attention to securing enough water in reservoirs. -0-
