Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- At the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum in the DPRK, there is a large panorama "Operation for Liberating Taejon" which vividly shows the matchless bravery and mass heroism displayed by the officers and men of the Korean People's Army during the Fatherland Liberation War.

The battle for liberating Taejon conducted on July 20, 1950 under the operational policy advanced by President Kim Il Sung is recognized in the world history of wars as an example of the modern siege warfare that various arms of the People's Army encircled large enemy forces and annihilated them through the reasonable combination of our style combat forms and methods.

In the battle which ended seven hours after the start of the attack, the 24th Infantry Division of the U.S. imperialists which had been bluffing as the "undefeated division" and the 1st and 7th divisions of the ROK army were completely annihilated, and Commander of the 24th Infantry Division of the U.S. imperialists Dean in poor soldier's uniform was captured by a soldier of the People's Army on a way of escape.

The large panorama vividly depicting the historical environment and combat situation at that time consists of four parts (the part of encirclement and annihilation, the part of reverence, the part of cutting off the enemy's retreat and reinforcement and the part of defeat of the U.S. imperialists) which are 15 meters high and over 130 meters round.

The President unfolded a plan to create and display large panorama of the operation for liberating Taejon at the newly-built Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and watched the completed work, saying that the large panorama is a masterpiece and that it is well planned and high in artistic representation.

The People's Prize was awarded to the large panorama which showed the victory in the battle for liberating Taejon on April 14, 1974.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and highly appreciated the large panorama and advanced a plan to enrich the representation as required by the new century.

The newly depicted large panorama shines as the immortal picture of victory and glory of the great years. -0-
