Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- The enthusiasm for socialist emulation for improving the quality of products is increasing in various sectors and units of the national economy of the DPRK.

In the second quarter of the year, more than a hundred and dozens of production processes and products of over 80 units in the fields of construction and building-materials industry, foodstuff industry and public health were awarded the quality certification and products produced by more than 10 units were awarded February 2 Goods Certification.

The Taean Friendship Glass Factory and the Chollima Tile Factory have put efforts into improving the quality of building materials and diversifying them, thus production lines of different kinds of glasses and tiles were awarded management system certificate.

The instant noodle production lines of the Paekunsan and Jangjasan general foodstuff factories, which were highly appreciated at various exhibitions by making quality products with locally available raw materials, were awarded food safety management system certificate.

The Ryongaksan Spring Water Factory, Kangso Mineral Water Factory, Nampho Municipal Condiments Factory, Rason General Foodstuff Factory and other units have successfully built their production lines.

More than 20 medicine and cosmetics production units also ensured quality standards and many production lines were certified by GMP.

The goods of Pyongyang Stevia Processing Factory, the Songdowon General Foodstuff Factory, the Phyongsong Unphasan Bag Branch Factory and the Ponghwa Soap Factory were also awarded February 2 Goods Certification. -0-
