Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- The Sohung Poman Fish Farm in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to put fish farming on a scientific and intensive basis of higher level.
The farm has conducted the operation of sci-tech learning space, passing-on technique and show to encourage all its employees to introduce advanced fish farming technology into practice.
It has solved the problems arising in settling the breed problem and improving the effectiveness of artificial propagation and assorted feed by its own efforts and technology and pushed ahead with the work to put sturgeon and snakehead farming on a scientific basis.
It built a Hermetia illucens and mud snail habitats, provided animal protein feed and water temperature by using natural energy and introduced assorted feed additives to raise the survival rate and weight ratio of catfish, tilapia, Ryongjong fish and other fish.
The farm has bred rainbow trout with high taste and nutritive value in every season by taking good advantage of the regional conditions rich in spring water and by doing collection of eggs, hatching and management of water quality in a responsible way.
It also created scientific ratio among species of fish according to the living habit of carp, silver carp, Aristichthys nobilis and other fish, thus raising the level of intensive fish farming and opening up a prospect for reducing the cost and increasing the productivity. -0-
