Wonhwa Farm in DPRK Reaps Bumper Crops

Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- The Wonhwa Farm in Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province of the DPRK, has harvested bumper crops this year, too as it did last year.

With high pride and honor of holding President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in high esteem as honorary farmers, its officials and farmers devoted their sincere sweat and efforts to this year's farming.

Each workteam and sub-workteam of the farm increased the per-hectare yield of maize and wheat by one ton on an average more than last year, and carried out the national grain production plan at 131.3 percent by raising the per-hectare yield of rice.

On Nov. 15, the farm held a meeting for year-end account settlement and income distribution.

Present there were Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Yong Song, chairman of the provincial rural economy committee, officials concerned and agricultural workers.

Han Song I, manager of the farm, made a report.

At the meeting, the shares were courteously presented to the President and the Chairman.

After the distribution of cash to the farmers, the production rankings of workteams and sub-workteams were announced and speeches made.

The agricultural workers danced to the tune of cheerful peasant music, which revved up the atmosphere of the venue. -0-
