Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- Fishery units in the west coastal area of the DPRK have started the first fishing campaign for this year.

Officials of North Phyongan and South Hwanghae provincial fishery management bureaus and fishery units worked out innovative plans for attaining the seafood goals and made efforts for the fishing campaign preparation including the repair of fishing boats and the maintenance of fishing tackles after having secured equipment, accessories and materials.

Those of the Jongju Fishery Station took the lead in settling the knotty problems to ensure the successful repair of tens of fishing boats.

The Haeju Fishery Station and the Pupho Offshore Farm built new fishing boats and made progress in modernizing the fishing tackles.

Meanwhile, Unjon, Cholsan and Ryongampho fishery stations repaired fishing boats in a qualitative way to complete the overall preparations for fishing campaign. -0-
