Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- The Electric Power Industry Research Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry in the DPRK has made an achievement for guaranteeing the safety of electric power system on a sci-tech way.

A research group of the institute has newly manufactured action counter for lightening arrester with its own efforts and technology. The counter plays an important role in analyzing accidents of electric power equipment and protecting them by grasping the operation of lightening arresters in real time.

The research group strived to manufacture more efficient counter suited to the actual conditions of the country.

It has succeeded in making a new counter more precise than the previous one by intensifying researches with the main emphasis on ensuring the accuracy of countering.

It has proved the advantages of the counters by introducing them into various units, including the Jagang Provincial Power Transmission and Distribution Station, and built a technical process to meet the demand of the whole country. -0-
