Agricultural Guidance Organs Take Measures to Cope with Disastrous Abnormal Weather

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Agricultural guidance organs at all levels of the DPRK are taking technical and practical measures to cope with the disastrous abnormal weather.

The Agricultural Commission is intensifying technical guidance to accurately predict the negative effects of various abnormal climates on the growth of crops and minimize the yield reduction.

The South Phyongan and South Hwanghae provincial rural economy committees are generalizing the farming experience gained in the areas that increased high and safe yields by putting manuring and cultivation on a scientific basis in conformity with the growth of crops in the past.

The North Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee is pushing ahead with technical guidance to introduce and generalize various kinds of advanced water management methods and growth promoters into the immediate farming.

The Kangwon Provincial Rural Economy Committee is directing efforts to minimizing damage to crops and farmland caused by heavy rain and standing water in cities and counties.

The Hoeryong City Rural Economy Committee in North Hamgyong Province is introducing and generalizing the advanced farming techniques and farming methods to promote the growth of crops and ensure the safe yield despite the changing weather conditions.

The work to prevent disasters is being pushed forward by the Paechon County Rural Economy Committee in South Hwanghae Province, the Yonggwang County Rural Economy Committee in South Hamgyong Province and other city and county rural economy committees. -0-
