Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Wednesday:

- Ground-breaking ceremonies for regional development policy-oriented construction in the new year took place in the area of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and Kangnam and Maengsan counties.

- Meetings were held at several units in Kanggye City to mark the 20th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's field guidance at them.
