Drive for Increased Production Brisk in Coal Mines of DPRK

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Workers at the Onsong, Kyongwon and Myongchon area coal mining complexes in the DPRK are over-fulfilling their assignments every day.

Workers at the Onsong Area Coal Mining Complex are taking the lead in making innovations.

The Kangan Coal Mine has over-fulfilled its daily quotas by displaying collective spirit and the Jungbong Coal Mine has produced 1.2 times more coal than the daily plan by introducing advanced work methods.

The Kyongwon Area Coal-mining Complex has given priority to tunneling, raised the coal-mining and transport capacities and generalized the successes and experience of advanced units.

The tunneling workers at the Tokchon Pit of the Ryongbuk Youth Coal Mine have secured reserve coal beds by rationally distributing a drilling work suited to the rock quality condition and conducting continuous blasting, and the Kogonwon and Thaesan coal mines are increasing the coal production by operating equipment at full capacity.

The Yangjong Coal Mine under the Myongchon Area Coal Mining Complex has directed efforts to increasing the proportion of mechanization in the face work to ensure the rapid transport of coal and the Soksong Coal Mine has provided a guarantee for increased production by giving precedence to the main tunneling and preparative tunneling. -0-
