Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK directs efforts to the preparation for spring tree planting.

More than 15 millions of saplings needed for spring tree planting have been secured in the province and measures are taken to raise the rate of rooting.

Officials of the forestry sector in the province ensured that cities and counties secure enough saplings, select the right time for their planting, disseminate scientific tree-planting methods and give field technical guidance in a responsible manner.

Sinwon and Unchon counties have raised more saplings than scheduled by conducting the work to produce high-yielding saplings suited to the regional geographical features at the county mother tree nurseries, institutions, enterprises and farms.

Officials and working people in Paechon, Jangyon and Pongchon counties set Aronia melanocarpa and Evodia daniellii Benn as the main species and have pushed ahead with the production of saplings.

Sinchon and Thaethan counties have put the forest design on a scientific basis and detailed the production of saplings to ensure the rational distribution of species.

Haeju City and Jaeryong and Samchon counties are putting the extermination of harmful insects on a scientific basis.

The city and counties have preserved and managed the produced saplings in a scientific and technological way and, at the same time, paid attention to securing agents for protection of roots in order to raise the rate of rooting. -0-
