Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The State Bacilli-Culture Institute of the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK has made achievements in developing and applying the efficacious nutritive germicide "Saengsin (freshness) No. 1".

Scientists intensified the researches for developing a germicide effective in preventing damage by various diseases, including rice bacterial leaf blight, in paddy rice, wheat, vegetable and fruit farming. In the course, they developed "Saengsin No. 1", which can be applied effectively to various crops, and introduced it into some farms.

According to the experience of the units which have introduced it, it is effective in preventing various diseases which occur in paddy rice, wheat and vegetables like cucumber, and in minimizing the damage by them.

The nutritive germicide won the new technology goods development prize at the 38th National Festival of Science and Technology. -0-
