Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The Ilhae Farm in Jongju City of North Phyongan Province of the DPRK has reaped rich harvest every year by dint of scientific farming, true to the programme for the rural revolution in the new era.
The farm has directed primary efforts to raising the scientific level of agricultural production and established a scientific cultivation method by introducing high-yielding strains strong in salt, drought, rainstorm and disease to suit the regional features of the coastal area.
It has put the operation of the newly-built base for producing slow-action granulated fertilizer on a normal basis and applied a lot of organic fertilizer and manure to fields and conducted a drainage project in the tens of kilometer-long sections to provide a guarantee for high and stable yield.
As a result, it reaped rich harvest and finished harvesting and threshing in a short span of time through a collective innovation.
Its farmers took part in the year-end account settlement and income distribution with the pride of having over-fulfilled the state grain production plan again this significant year. They were congratulated by Ri Hi Yong, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Kwang Un, chairman of the provincial rural economy committee, and officials in Jongju City. -0-
