OANA-NEWS2024 Socialist Emulation to Increase Per-hectare Grain Yield Reviewed in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- A meeting for reviewing the 2024 socialist emulation to increase the per-hectare yield of grain was held in the DPRK on Wednesday.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Agricultural Commission, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) and units participating in the emulation, and exemplary agricultural workers.

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, read out review data.

He said that officials and working people in the agricultural sector raised the per-hectare yield and over-fulfilled the grain production plan by massively introducing high-yielding seeds, advanced farming methods and efficient farm machines in hearty response to the decisions of the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK and conducting a dynamic mass movement for putting farming on a sci-tech basis last year.

He stressed that the precious successes made last year are a precious fruition of the wise leadership and devotion of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who energetically led the work of the agricultural sector, taking Party-wide and nationwide measures for steadily increasing the agricultural production of the country.

The standings were announced at the meeting.

Citations in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK, and rotating pennants were awarded to South Phyongan Province, Pyongyang Municipality, Sukchon and Mundok counties and the Ryongrim Farm of Mundok County.

A citation of the C.C., UAWK and a rotating pennant were conferred on the Anak County Irrigation Management Station which won the socialist emulation among city and county irrigation management stations.
