Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- In the area of the northern gateway to Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, there is Jonwi Street built by DPRK young builders.

Ordinary people in the capital city, including families of war veterans, honored disabled soldiers and educators and families with many children, are leading a happy life in Jonwi Street where high-rise and super-high-rise apartment houses of various styles and public buildings form a large architectural group.

The street, initiated and named by the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, was successfully built under his meticulous leadership.

At the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un set forth the task of building a new street in the Sopho area on the sidelines of the construction of 10,000 flats in Pyongyang in 2023, and entrusted this huge construction project to the Socialist Patriotic Youth League and the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.

He came to the venue for the groundbreaking ceremony and encouraged the young vanguard with his exciting speech and made the construction-starting thunder resound. And he indicated the orientation and ways for building a modern new street.

Engraving in their mind the love and trust of the great father, the young builders successfully built the large architectural group, a symbol of socialist development and future, in a short span of one year.

Kim Jong Un, who attended the inauguration ceremony of Jonwi Street in May 2024 and cut the inauguration tape, expressed belief that the young people would continue to fully demonstrate the wisdom and bravery of the youth they displayed in the construction of the capital city and perform brilliant feats in the vanguard of the times advancing towards the comprehensive development of the state.
