Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Memorial meetings took place in Myanmar, Germany, Switzerland and Mexico on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung.

Speeches were made at the meetings attended by personages of political and social circles and masses in those countries.

A member of the Central Executive Committee of the Myanmar Journalist Association said that President Kim Il Sung extended unsparing support and encouragement to the peoples of many countries in their national liberation struggle in colonial countries and the building of a new society, holding aloft the banner of independence and international justice all his life.

The august name of the peerlessly great man shines long along with socialist Korea dynamically advancing along the road selected by it without wavering even under the complicated international political situation, he stressed.

The chairperson of the Switzerland-Korea Committee praised the President as an outstanding state leader, world elder statesman, great master of independent politics, invincible and iron-willed brilliant commander and peerless sage as he performed the great feats that no prominent one in the world can match.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico praised the President for making a great contribution to the country and its people, the times and history.

Personages of the Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany, the Group of the Study of Korean Culture, the German Executive Committee of the Group for International Solidarity with the DPRK and other organizations praised the President for founding the Juche idea and thoroughly applying it to the revolution and construction.

A message to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the memorial meeting held in Switzerland. -0-
