Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Koreans in China (GAKC) held a memorial service for President Kim Il Sung on July 8, the 31st anniversary of his demise.

Officials of the GAKC, including a vice-chairperson of the GAKC and the chairman of the Jilin Regional Association, laid flower baskets in the name of the GAKC, the Association of Korean Women in China, the Jilin City branch of the Jilin Regional Association of the GAKC and the family of Hwang Paek Ha, a Korean in China related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, and made a bow before the statue of Kim Il Sung at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin of China.

Flower baskets in the name of the GAKC, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, the Zhongnan Regional Association and the Liaoning Regional Association under the GAKC were laid before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the art works depicting them at the DPRK embassy in Beijing and DPRK missions in Shenyang and Dandong.

A study of the film dealing with the immortal revolutionary exploits of Kim Il Sung and the report on the revolutionary activities of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un took place at the conference hall of the GAKC in Shenyang City, China.

Present there were officials of the headquarters of the GAKC and members of the Shenyang City branch of the Liaoning Regional Association.

Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the GAKC, made a speech.

She said that there are many countries and leaders in the world but no one has performed world historic exploits before the times, revolution, history and mankind as the President did, and praised the President as the benevolent father and great sage of the revolution boundlessly revered by all people.

She called upon the Koreans in China to turn out as one in the patriotic work for the prosperity of the motherland, full of the great pride and honor of being the people of a powerful nation, bearing in mind the iron faith that the DPRK is unshakable as long as it is led by Kim Jong Un. -0-
