Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the agricultural sector of Kangwon Province are making preparations for water securement and the operation of pumping equipment ahead of rice-transplanting.

Thanks to their efforts, irrigation water has been secured in the overall reservoirs of the province and the cleaning of waterway extending more than thousand kilometers and the overhaul of pumping equipment been completed in the main.

Officials and agricultural workers of Kimhwa and Phangyo counties repaired irrigation structures and took measures to fill reservoirs and auxiliary gathering grounds with water.

Anbyon, Kosong and Thongchon counties have laid another foundation for stably pushing forward the agricultural production by stepping up the project for expanding the capacity of catchments and reservoirs.

Officials and workers of Munchon City and Chonnae County have increased their responsibility in the restoration of irrigation facilities and Cholwon and Popdong counties overhauled various kinds of equipment needed for irrigation water.

The Changdo and Kosan counties produced accessories necessary for keeping pumping equipment in full-capacity operation. -0-
