Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Fishery units in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK are strengthening the foundation for production.

The Kim Chaek and Chongjin fishery stations introduced the scientific fishing systems and efficient fishing methods and launched a drive for intensive fishing suited to seasonal conditions, thus increasing the production by 1.2 times as compared with the same period of last year.

The Sinam Fishery Station completed the work for equipping fishing boats with fishing tackles capable of fishing in deep and shallow seas, while saving manpower and materials.

The Ryonjin Fishery Station and the Kanhae Office for Stocking the Sea with Fishes bring earlier the growth date of tangle weeds by introducing a new technology.

The Chongam offshore salmon feed supply fishery station is applying various kinds of culture technologies to provide a guarantee for increased mussel production. -0-
