President Kim Il Sung's Feats for War Victory

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- During the last Fatherland Liberation War, President Kim Il Sung had ceaselessly inspected the front and the rear, weathering the flames of gunfire, to bring earlier the day of war victory.

He visited 1 075 units in the war period and the length of his journey for field guidance was more than 22 740kms.

In the course, he clarified the Juche-oriented war methods, strategies and tactics on the forefront very close to Height 1211 and unfolded a blueprint for agricultural cooperativization in Wonhwa-ri, sowing seeds together with peasants. During the three years of the war, he always found himself among the service personnel and civilians.

Thanks to his devoted efforts, the "line of no retreat" in Kumgang, of which the U.S. imperialists boasted, collapsed like a sand castle and the battle for liberating Taejon, which encircled and destroyed the great enemy forces, was recorded in history as an example of modern siege warfare. And Height 1211 was known as a height of heroes despite all sorts of attack, bombardment and shelling by the enemy.

On the way through the flames of the war, the issue of stabilizing the people’s livelihood during the war was discussed at a political committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and such legendary stories came into being as the fact that many soldiers were mobilized to carrying salt to peasants.

The President's ceaseless journey for field guidance over the front and the rear encouraged the service personnel to perform heroic feats and inspired the civilians with firm confidence in the war victory. -0-
