Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- All the people across the DPRK honored the memory of President Kim Il Sung, founding father of our dignified socialist state and eternal President of the DPRK, in the humblest reverence for him on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of his demise.

The national flags were hoisted at half-mast at the flagpoles across the country and at institutions, industrial establishments, farms and schools on July 8, the greatest national memorial day.

Working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, and paid high tribute to the peerlessly great sages who devoted their all to winning the victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of anti-imperialist independence all their lives.

The masses visited the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country and the mosaics of the peerlessly great men to lay flower baskets, bouquets and flowers in the best wishes for immortality.

Officials, Party members, working people, service personnel youth and students across the country watched documentary films "Our Leader Praised by All People", "Finding Himself among the People All His Life" and "The People Sing of Their Leader" at their workplaces, posts and homes.

Meetings were held in different parts of the country to tell stories about virtues of the President in praise of his revolutionary career and exploits.

At the meetings the speakers praised the President for injecting the immortal vitality into the ever-victorious history of the Korean revolution winning victory after victory with independent politics, self-supporting economy and self-reliant national defence and laying an eternal foundation for building a powerful and prosperous state. -0-
