Floral Tribute to Statues of Great Leaders

Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il across the DPRK to pay the highest tribute to them on the occasion of the greatest national memorial day.

Placed before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill were flower baskets in the names of the Party, power and armed forces organs, social organizations, ministries and national agencies, units of the Korean People's Army and the Public Security Forces, institutions, industrial establishments and universities, bouquets and flowers.

The visitors paid tribute to the statues of the great leaders, recollecting the sacred revolutionary careers of the peerlessly great men who performed immortal exploits before the times and history and turned the country into an invincible power dignified with independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in defence with their ardent love for and boundless devotion to the country and the people all their lives.

Laid at the statues of the President and the Chairman in different parts of the capital city, including Kim Il Sung University, the Ministry of National Defence and the Mansudae Art Studio, were flower baskets in the names of institutions, enterprises, units of the KPA and the PSF and bouquets.

Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students across the country visited the statues of the peerlessly great leaders in their residential areas to pay high tribute to them. -0-
