Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK is boosting the production of building materials by relying on regional raw materials.
The province is generalizing the experience of the Komusan Cement Factory that presented quality building materials to a provincial building materials exhibition.
The factory solved a technical problem arising in making effective use of overburden which had been piled up for the past decades, thus providing a guarantee for increasing the cement production at low cost.
The Chongjin Slate Factory and the Chongjin Plastic Tube Factory improved the quality and increased output of heat insulating materials and various sizes of plastic tubes.
The Kyongsong Tile Factory established an efficient glaze production line with its own technical forces and thus made progress in increasing the proportion of locally available finishing building materials.
The Musan Wood Processing Station invented and manufactured equipment capable of producing qualitative ceiling panels, and the Hoeryong City Paper Factory rationally remodeled the process capable of mass-producing dampproofing papers.
Meanwhile, the province is modernizing the bases for building materials production so as to contribute to regional and rural construction by diversifying finishing building materials. -0-
