Pyongyang, May 10 (KCNA) -- The 12th Sports Contest among Public Health Workers closed in the DPRK.

The contest had been held at the Taekwon-Do Hall and the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street from May 2. The basketball, volleyball, table-tennis, Taekwon-Do, a tug of war and other events were held, divided into two groups.

In the games, the players showed their skills improved through mass sports activities.

A closing ceremony took place at the Taekwon-Do Hall on May 9.

Present there were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and public health workers and players.

At the closing ceremony, rotating pennants, trophy cups and relevant prizes were awarded to the excellent units, including the Academy of Medical Science and the General Dental Hospital under the Ministry of Public Health which took the first place in total group standings.
