Efforts Made in DPRK to Improve Qualifications of Teachers

Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- Teachers' retraining institutes in Pyongyang direct efforts to improving the qualifications of teachers.

The Taedonggang District Teachers' Retraining Institute has ensured that all the academic advisers solve practical problems arising in teaching for the new school year and that more teaching materials and aids for improving the quality of basic education and raising the effectiveness of teaching are explored and introduced.

The Mangyongdae District Teachers' Retraining Institute has directed efforts to making all the trainees be well versed in the contents of teaching materials according to the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme and work out teaching plans and multimedia programs on a high level.

The Unjong District Teachers' Retraining Institute has actively conducted the work to create and generalize new teaching methods including enlightenment-, brainstorm- and discussion-oriented teaching methods helpful to improving the practical abilities of students.

Teachers' retraining institutes in Phyongchon, Ryokpho and other districts, too, have dealt with the teaching contents necessary for improving the cognitive effect of students so that teachers can improve their practical abilities. -0-
