Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- Workers in the metal industry of the DPRK are making innovations every day in the production of iron and steel, true to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has further boosted the capacity of oxygen heat blast furnace to produce a larger quantity of iron and steel as compared with the same period of last year.

The Chollima Steel Complex has made a guarantee for increased iron and steel production by applying valuable technical innovation proposals to shorten the melting time and turn out a larger amount of molten iron.

Workers of the Posan Iron Works have increased the production of iron and steel by maintaining and repairing the furnaces in a qualitative way and at the right time and keeping equipment at full-capacity operation. -0-
