Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- Korean jewel painting, the treasure and pride of the Korean nation, gives a peculiar emotion to the people as it vividly depicts reality with natural gems and precious stone powders.

The artistic characteristic of Korean jewel painting is the organic combination of pictorial and technical art methods, such as the harmony of vivid, soft and elegant colours, the delicate and sophisticated techniques and the wonderful decorative effect in combination of various materials.

Korean jewel painting, created more than 30 years ago, is newly developing while the theme and creation objects are widening under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Going round the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum under construction more than ten years ago, Kim Jong Un gave instructions to depict with Korean jewel paintings the images of anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners who boundlessly remained loyal to President Kim Il Sung.

The creators of the Korean Jewel Painting Creative Group of the Mansudae Art Studio vividly depicted the images of anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners and thus contributed to ensuring the prestige and style of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum.

Korean jewel painting, with the main stress put on depicting image, flower and animal and displaying them in the interior in the past, reflects the great era and is also created in mural painting.

The Korean jewel paintings "Soaring into Sky" and "Jonwi Street at Night" reflecting the great event that demonstrated the national power of the DPRK to the whole world and the fantastic sceneries of modern new streets in Pyongyang Municipality were created and the large-size Korean jewel painting depicting mountaineering road maps of Mt Chilbo and Mt Myohyang was created.
