Meeting of Workers Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting of workers and trade union members to hear impressions of the reminiscences on the virtues of the peerlessly great men was held at the Central Hall of Workers on Thursday to mark the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army.

Present there were officials of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, trade union officials and members and workers in Pyongyang.

Choe Jong Chol, vice-chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, briefed on the main content of the reminiscence "Until the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was developed into a regular revolutionary armed forces under the warm care of Comrade Kim Il Sung".

He referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung founded the revolutionary regular armed forces of Juche type in less than three years after the liberation of Korea with his confidence that only the army can firmly defend the destiny of the country and people.

Thanks to the leadership of the President who made painstaking efforts to establish different services, the KPA, the genuine armed forces of the Korean people, could be founded on February 8, 1948, he stressed.

Then followed speeches.

The speakers paid the highest tribute to the peerlessly great men who successfully accomplished the great cause of building the army by dint of self-reliance and provided a firm military guarantee for the victorious advance of the socialist cause.

They expressed their determination to add eternal shine to the exploits performed by the peerlessly great men for the building of the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces and demonstrate the spirit and mettle of the heroic Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il working class in the struggle for bringing earlier the comprehensive national rejuvenation. -0-
