Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- South Phyongan Province in the DPRK newly built the Phyongsong Zoo.
The zoo covering an area of over 20 000 square meters has several animal sheds and service buildings. The construction of the zoo makes it possible to provide the people in the province with another base of cultural and leisure activities.
The inaugural ceremony of the zoo took place on Dec. 2.
Present there were Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, builders, working people in city and employees of the zoo.
Ri Song Bom, chairman of the provincial people's committee, made an inaugural address.
After the ceremony, the participants looked round various places of the zoo. -0-
