Increased Seaweed Production

Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Fishery stations of the North Hamgyong Provincial Fishery Management Bureau in the DPRK are boosting the production of seaweed.

Officials and employees of the fishery stations are carrying out their monthly national economic plans while conducting sea culture in a scientific and technological way appropriate to each season and process.

The Sokho Offshore Farm has created kelp culture grounds in a balanced manner and increased the productivity per unit area on the basis of a detailed survey of water quality, temperature and salinity.

Other fishery stations in the province, too, increase the kelp production by applying advanced methods. -0-
