Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- President
The President had always put the people's interests above anything else in thinking and activities, and his love for the people was laid in the centre of his thinking and practice.
One day he saw a rare hen with long feathers of various colors on its heels.
He asked an official how many eggs it laid in a year and said with great regret that for the hen, priority should be given to lay many eggs, not good in appearance, adding that he would come to see a hen every day if there were any hen that lay many eggs, no matter how ugly it may look.
He went on to say earnestly that it would be good to have a hen laying 400 eggs a year and then, more eggs would be supplied to our people.
Like this, the absolute criteria of all value assessment for him were the interests and happiness of the people.
One day in August, 1958, the President got aboard and arrived the water off the Panwol Islet in the River Taedong. He looked at the rock spreading like a screen on the shore for a while, pointed a finger at it and said that the rock is Okryu Wall and it is a very good place for the site of the house, adding that a Korean-style restaurant which matches well with the scenery of the River Taedong and looks like a floating building should be built there and provided it for our people.
The President took a measure to build a Korean-style restaurant for the people in the famous place on the Okryu Wall boasting of superb scenic beauty and named it "Okryu Restaurant".
Indeed, he devoted himself to the happiness of the people while thinking only of the people. Such legendary stories about his love for the people can be heard at every place of the country. -0-
