Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The proud successes achieved by the DPRK players in the 23rd Taekwon-Do World Championships held in Italy days ago are associated with the efforts of the researchers of the Taekwon-Do Science Institute under the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.

The institute set research tasks in line with the world trend in the development of the sports science and technology and directed efforts to solving sci-tech problems arising in practice.

The researchers completed the research into the means and methods for training sparring match tactics, thus helping coaches work out detailed tactical plans for teams and individual players and introduce rational training methods.

They developed and introduced a program for evaluating the level of Taekwon-Do technique that standardized the Taekwon-Do basic movements and put them on digital basis to provide correct images on motion track of technical movements and hand and foot movements.

Multimedia programs showing functional physical training methods to suit the characteristics of events have contributed to enhancing physical and technical abilities of players. -0-
