Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- Kangwon Province in the DPRK is directing efforts to road management and forest and water conservation.
Thanks to the devoted efforts of the officials and working people in Wonsan City and other cities and counties in the province, construction and technical remodeling of roads have been completed in many sections and over 900 000 cubic meters of earth of riverbeds have been dredged this year.
Wonsan City paved the road covering an area of over 140 000 square meters with pitch and built a tourist road.
Munchon City is pushing ahead with the planned bridge construction at the final stage and Thongchon County finished the concrete pavement on the entrance road to the township.
Kosan County concentrated all its excavators, hydraulic loaders and trucks on dredging and carrying over 100 000 cubic meters of earth in riverbeds and building a large area of retaining walls.
Chonnae County has removed the danger-bearing places while pushing ahead with the improvement of rivers and streams and Sepho, Ichon and Phangyo counties are propelling the anti-land-sliding project to protect the arable land from landslides.
Youth league and women's union organizations in the province are encouraging their members to make patriotic devotion to the work for sprucing up their streets, villages, parks and pleasure grounds. -0-
