Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- DPRK players returned home after taking part in the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships held in China.

Pak Myong Jin, Ro Kwang Ryol, Kim Il Gyong and Song Kuk Hyang bagged 12 medals including 9 gold medals in the relevant men's and women's weightlifting events.

In particular, Song Kuk Hyang renewed world and Asian records in clean and jerk and total in women's 71 kg category and thus became the best player at the championships.

The players, who demonstrated the honor of the country, were greeted by officials in the field of sports and those concerned, sportspersons and their families at Pyongyang International Airport on Saturday. -0-
