Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- The Natural Energy Institute under the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK developed new technologies for producing the electricity with wind, solar and biomass energy.

Researchers in the field of biomass energy have intensified the research into using methane gas from grain straws as fuel.

The research group established a methane gas production system in the rural areas of Pongsan County, North Hwanghae Province, thus making agricultural workers benefit from natural energy.

Researchers of an intellectual power grid research room established a new control system for the number of revolution, active and reactive power of gas-engine generator and synchronized the voltage and frequency of generating equipment with the national power system, thus further perfecting the power production technology based on biofuel.

Researchers of the wind power machine research room confirmed the proper places for building large-scale wind power and solar power stations across the country and established a method for scientifically predicting installed power and electricity output.

The research group developed the micro-hydro turbines at a high level and introduced them into various units.

Researchers of the Natural Energy Institute are devoting their wisdom and enthusiasm to the researches into establishing a power production process based on methane gasification at sewage purifying sites. -0-
