Efforts Focused on Raising Soil Fertility in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- Work to improve the soil fertility of farm fields is progressing apace in each rural area of the DPRK, which is seething with enthusiasm to implement the resolutions of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.

Officials and working people in the field of agriculture are directing efforts to producing and transporting self-made fertilizer to make all fields fertile for farming.

Agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province have made scientific analysis of soil from each field and made sure that enough manure is supplied to all fields, while seeing good results in production of self-made fertilizer every day.

North Hamgyong Province has increased the soil's humus content to meet its local characteristics, and is applying methods for various kinds of nutrient supplementation.

Districts and counties in Pyongyang, including Mangyongdae District, Rangnang District and Kangdong County, are improving the fertility of farm fields, overcoming deviations in manure production.

Agricultural workers in North Phyongan Province, Nampho City and other parts of the country are striving to spread more manure on fields. -0-
