Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- In different parts of the DPRK, measures have been taken to supply irrigation water.
Ryongchon County in North Phyongan Province has taken measures to supply manpower, equipment and materials to push ahead with the project for building a permanent embankment of the Songjong first-stage waterway. And the county is ensuring both the quality and the speed of the project by organizing and commanding the construction on time.
Officials and working people involved in the project are pushing forward with the transport of soil and compaction to carry out the project ahead of schedule.
Anbyon County in Kangwon Province is concentrating on securing water.
After planning to increase pumping capacity by building dammed pools in some areas, which suffered lots of drought damage in the past, the county is giving priority to designing with the help of scientists and technicians in the relevant field.
Kowon County in South Hamgyong Province has taken technical measures to increase water-drawing capacity after learning about reservoirs of farms.
The Unpha County Irrigation Management Station in North Hwanghae Province is solving problems arising in the repair of pumping equipment by exploring and tapping reserves, possibilities and potentials.
Meanwhile, workers of the Phyongsong Irrigation Machine Factory are putting spurs to the production of water pumps. -0-
