Civil Aviation Industry of DPRK

Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- The DPRK ratified the Convention on International Civil Aviation in August Juche 66 (1977) and joined the International Civil Aviation Organization on September 14 that year.

The Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK, which regard it as the most important affair to ensure the people's civilized life and promote their well-being, are paying deep attention to the development of the civil aviation industry.

Pyongyang International Airport was successfully rebuilt and home-made light aircrafts are conducive to the people's cultural and emotional life.

The DPRK has briskly conducted exchange with other countries in the field of civil aviation and made efforts to contribute to the development of international civil aviation as a member of the organization.

In 2021, the International Civil Aviation Transport Regulation was adopted as a decision of the Cabinet of the DPRK to satisfy the country’s foreign activities and the demand for air transport.

The efforts of the WPK and the DPRK government to contribute to the promotion of the people's well-being by developing the civil aviation industry will continue in the future, too. -0-
