Efforts to Increase Cocoon Production at Sericulture and Silk Industrial Bureau

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- According to Minju Joson, the Sericulture and Silk Industrial Bureau of the DPRK is increasing the production of cocoons both in quality and quantity.

The bureau set the goal of producing more than 100 million mulberry seedlings suitable for the relevant regions.

While providing sufficient fertilizer and agrochemicals for cultivating seedlings, it is intensifying its guidance to carry out the daily assignment according to processes.

It is generalizing the successes and experience gained by the Pongchon Sericulture Management Office and other units.

It is increasing the cocoon production by introducing advanced silkworm-raising methods.

It introduces and generalizes into relevant units the experience of the Kangnam Sericulture Management Office which is achieving successes in the cocoon production by establishing a system of common breeding of young silkworms.

It is also rebuilding and expanding the young silkworm raising rooms and installing necessary equipment at all sericulture management offices. -0-
