Reinforcement Project Hastened in Electric Power Sector of DPRK

Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the power industry of the DPRK are striving to carry out the tasks for readjustment and reinforcement planned for this year.

The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex has pushed ahead with the work to restore and modernize the original performance of generator No. 3, which is of key importance in production.

The Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant has boosted the output of electricity by installing turbine generators in addition. East Pyongyang and Sunchon thermal power plants carried out the overhaul of boilers and turbines in a qualitative way to provide a guarantee for the normal production.

The Thaechon Power Station removed a large amount of sediment to ensure high water level and the Suphung Power Station readjusted a large transformer.

Meanwhile, the work is progressing to further perfect the national integrated power control system already built at power transmission and distribution stations in provinces, cities and counties. -0-
