Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Rural areas in different parts of the DPRK have introduced a farming method by mud snails in conformity with the actual conditions of their regions and units.

South Hamgyong Province has secured mud snails to be put in over 25 000 hectares of paddy fields, three times than last year. It is putting more than 10 000 mud snails per hectare of paddy fields as soon as rice seedlings have taken root.

Yomju, Ryongchon and Sonchon counties of North Phyongan Province have introduced the farming method by mud snails.

Sukchon, Mundok and Phyongwon counties of South Phyongan Province have increased the number of mud snails after setting the goals of introducing the farming method by mud snails into thousands of hectares of paddy fields.

Anak County in South Hwanghae Province has established a well-regulated system of producing and supplying mud snails. The farms in the county are putting millions of mud snails into the paddy fields.

Many rural areas across the country are paying attention to the farming method by mud snails which can save manpower for weeding and agricultural chemicals, improve the fertility of soil and increase per-hectare yield, and introducing the farming method. -0-
