Millions of Young Wild Fruit Trees Secured in Ryanggang Province of DPRK

Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- Ryanggang Province of the DPRK is pushing ahead with the production of young wild fruit trees.

Material and technical foundations of city and county tree nurseries have been consolidated and efforts are being made to grow lots of trees of good species. In the course, millions of young wild fruit trees of great economic utility which grow well in the local climatic and soil conditions have been secured.

Kapsan County over-fulfilled its plan for producing saplings of various species, including oil-bearing chestnut trees and oaks, by securing saplings and manuring and cultivating them in a scientific and technical way.

The workers in the field of forest management in Taehongdan County produced more wild fruit saplings than planned by setting a correct standard for healthy seedlings and conducting all the work according to technical regulations.

Unhung County cultivated tens of thousands of vitamin saplings suited to the local climatic and soil conditions and sent them to various parts of the province.

Forest management stations in Kim Jong Suk and Kim Hyong Jik counties produced and supplied plant nutrient activator by themselves, providing conditions for growing healthy pine-nut saplings.

The workers at the Paekam County Forest Management Station applied high-quality organic fertilizer to fields and introduced advanced sapling cultivation methods to grow Schizandra chinensis, wild vines, tara vines, etc.

Workers in the field of forest management in Phungso County have secured good species of seeds and increased the rate of rooting of saplings. And Samsu County made similar successes. -0-
