Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- Rice-transplanting has begun in farms across the DPRK.

Officials and working people of the Wonhwa Farm in Phyongwon County of South Phyongan Province, the Chongsan Farm in Kangso District of Nampho Municipality, the Township Farm in Thosan County of North Hwanghae Province, and the Ogye Farm in Anbyon County of Kangwon Province, associated with the immortal leadership exploits of the peerlessly great men, have showed good results from the beginning of the rice-transplanting.

Officials and agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province are stepping up rice-transplanting by concentrating all their forces and means.

Kangryong and Anak counties, on the basis of working out rice-transplanting plans according to fields and plots, are increasing the operation rate of farm machines and raising the role of operators of rice-transplanting machines and seedling suppliers.

North Phyongan Province has made successes in the rice-transplanting in the spirit of bringing up healthy seedlings by responsibly nourishing them according to different varieties.

South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces are conducting the work to minimize damage of crops from the disastrous abnormal weather in a foresighted way and, at the same time, introducing scientific farming methods to conduct rice-transplanting in a qualitative way.

Meanwhile, rural farms in Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces, Nampho and Kaesong municipalities have taken measures to fully operate pumping equipment and supply enough water to fields and have conducted rice-transplanting while providing a guarantee for doing farming safely. -0-
